In collaboration with Nike
My trainer, Joslyn, always makes sure to surprise me with a few kilometers every now and then within my training program. I always roll my eyes, send her a message to remind her of my disgust with her for putting me through such agony, but in the end, not only do I understand the benefits of running for my endurance, but also for my mind.
Running was the reason that training, and Nike, first came into my life. When I was training for my half marathon in San Francisco, it was all I knew. I’d make sure I clocked up at least 5K three times a week and I was on a roll, but that was 4 years ago!
Now, when I see ‘run’ on that weekly program, I just get scared that it’s going to hurt, I’m not going to be as quick or as good as I used to be, but when it comes down to it, and I finally get myself on the treadmill or track, I just feel this incredible sense of seclusion from anything or anyone, my mind wanders, my legs just go until they can’t anymore and it’s the ultimate therapy.
Those who know me, know I’m a Nike girl through and through and I absolutely love collaborating with them to introduce you to some of my favourite products and one I’m very excited to share with you is their new Free RN Motion Flyknit 2017. It’s the ultimate Free shoe for running. The upper part has been rid of laces, so there’s limited restriction, and instead, an elastic strap which caters to your flexibility and shape is there to wrap your foot and make sure it’s kept protected and snug, whilst maintaining stretch.
I’ve been a fan of the Flyknit’s since their launch and this latest addition, especially in all black, has got me completely excited to run again. They’re comfortable, flexible and so lightweight with great breathability. Perfect for those runs in Dubai’s 40 degree Summer.
