The beauty of living in Dubai is you have ample choice for road trip destinations, from Oman to the other six beautiful Emirates, you can’t really get bored when it comes to exploring.
When Reem was in Dubai at the begging of the year, we wanted to do something spontaneous and fun and had the pleasure of driving the Mercedes GLE for a few days so of course a road trip seemed like the best idea. We decided to get more of our girls involved, but of course, they ditched last minute, and if we hadn’t gone into Joelle’s apartment, stormed into her room and literally dragged her out of bed, she would have bailed too.
About 2 hours behind schedule, we were finally en route and headed towards Al Ain as we’d heard such good things about driving through and finding hidden gems in the city. One thing I love about driving through the UAE is that it’s so calming, the majority of the time you just have desert surrounding you and it’s still such a novelty for Reem and me when we spot camels in the distance.
After a short pitstop to get some much-needed car snacks, we carried on driving towards Al Ain, our journey got a little dramatic once we pulled out as we got followed by a random car which completely weirded us out and as we made a right turn to try and get rid of them, we found ourselves in a milk farm. There were goats and camels everywhere and we had so much fun taking a break from driving and snapping all the cute animals, we got completely carried away with the time and in the end didn’t make it to Al Ain as planned.
This isn’t the first time we’ve embarked on a road trip and completely failed in actually getting to our destination, so it has now become our mission to make one of these desert trips actually happen.
