Part two of my Mauritian adventure started with a move to the southern-western coast of the island where we checked into the beautiful Dina Robin resort.
I can’t wait to share more with you on the second part of my stay, but before I do, here are some images from a day trip to Chamarel where I experienced my first waterfall sighting (beautiful), met some giant tortoises (so cute) and saw what all the fuss was about over Coloured Earth, which I now know, you can’t actually stand on and get an epic ‘from where I stand’ shot.
Every time we got in our car and drove from place to place there were so many inviting street side stalls selling fruit, and once or twice a stop had to be made to get a taste of the local flavours.
This was one of those typical vacation days where makeup is not an option, I had decided to wash my hair in the ocean that day to get as close to a sea salt spray as possible, and I threw on whatever was going to allow my skin to breathe the most without walking around in a bikini.
I loved interacting with the locals in Mauritius, the island has so much to offer. It’s both visually and culturally rich and I’d love to add, has some of the yummiest street-side mangoes I’ve ever tasted.
Special thanks to Beachcomber Tours for the hospitality.
