My Daily Skin Care Routine

March 12, 2016

A couple of months ago, I was introduced to the Lancome Génifique line, consisting of serum, eye care and a day and night cream.

After being invited to experience a premium Génifique facial by leading regional skincare expert Fayrouz Najdi in Dubai, I was instantly hooked. I have trouble sticking to routines, so I challenged myself to seven days of using the Génifique products day and night until it became a habit.

There’s a reason why a bottle of Génifique is sold every 4 minutes, the products are just so good and perfect for women around my age (26). I wanted to give myself a good dose of time before vouching for them so it’s now been over two months and I still swear by them. After receiving so many questions on snapchat about my daily routine, I’m really excited for some of you to take my advice and try out my step by step guide below.

Full disclosure, this is not a sponsored post, I’m just a serious fan girl of these products.

Shot in the Waldorf Astoria, Palm Jumeirah. Special thanks for the hospitality.

SHOP: Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate

The first product I use is the youth activating serum. The bottle is designed in a genius way. When you unscrew the top, you squeeze a button for just the right amount of liquid to appear, which is enough to use all over your face (avoiding your eye area) and décolletage.

The product should sink in to your skin leaving a smooth finish. If it feels sticky, you’ve used too much. When you screw the top back on, it refills the internal pipette ready for your next use.

Lancôme Advanced Génifique Eye Serum Light-Pearl

This is my favourite part of the routine. You take the wand containing the serum and apply it directly to underneath your eyes and on your eye lids. The point is to activate the area.

The best (and most therapeutic) way to do this is to apply the eye serum in the below three swift movements.

First, swipe the pearl wand from the outer corners of your eye working inwards both below the eye and on your eyelids three times.

Don’t rub the serum in just yet. Once you’ve done step one, move back to the bottom corner of the eye and using the wand, make small circular movements towards the inner corner of your eye. Then, take the wand to your eyelid, and make small zig-zag movements from corner to corner.

Finally, press the wand down in the 3 corners of your eye (upper inside corner, lower inside corner and outside corner). These movements really wake up the area leaving you feeling fresh and luminous.

Tip: Put the bottle in the fridge, once you’re ready to apply the wand it will be extra cold, leaving you feeling as fresh as ever.

Lancôme’s Hydra Zen Neurocalm Cream

The moisturiser is step three of three and I apply this every morning and night before I sleep.

When applying, concentrate on the five main areas of your face. Your chin, both cheeks, forehead and nose. Softly navigate the cream upwards rather than down the face, you’ll see that the skin absorbs the cream really well and doesn’t leave you feeling like you’ve got too much product on your face.
