LOW KEY

By Reem Kanj / Photography Joe Galvin

London Fashion Week has always had a stressful reputation with me. I usually agree to do way too much and spread myself so thin that by the end of the week I’m so exhausted and can barely comprehend the thought of preparing for the Paris shows.

Last season, I tried to switch things up by having a base in Central London and taking on a lot less, and it worked, it was more fun than anything, but this season was even more chilled out for me. I was extra picky with what shows I did and limited myself to only attending what I really wanted to see.

Also, when it came to my outfits, I took a much more relaxed approach, I didn’t plan my looks in advance and decided on what to wear in the morning with simplicity and comfort being at the forefront of my mind.

ASOS featured all three of my looks and so many of you showed love for this on Snapchat, so I thought I’d share them in more detail here.

Huge hugs and kisses to the amazing Joe Galvin who captured all of these looks for me over the course of LFW.

DAY 1

LONDON FASHION WEEK

My first day this season started on Saturday, and I had one show on the agenda, Julien Macdonald.

For this rainy day, I layered up a blazer with an oversized coat and classic Levi’s 501 jeans.

I tried something new by wearing my jeans over my boots, something which was a little out of my comfort zone as I’m usually a skinny jeans kind of girl, but I love the nod to 90’s style in this outcome.

DAY 2

LONDON FASHION WEEK

Sunday was the Topshop show and for this, I pulled out my favourite suede biker by the brand and paired with relaxed faux leather pants, cut out ankle boots and my new Burberry rucksack.

The hero piece from this look had to be the super soft and cosy knit by Charlie May. Perfect for a gloomy day in London.

DAY 3

LONDON FASHION WEEK

Probably the best Monday of the season, the day of the Burberry show and usually my last day attending LFW.

Again, I wanted to maintain comfort and stay relaxed. I put together a longline oversized coat by Charlie May, with Mom jeans and a hat to finish off the look. Of course, I had to repeat my Burberry rucksack for the show, it pulled the entire look together.
