NEW YORK / STYLE

RULES OF COMFORT & STYLE

By Natalya Kanj / Photography Reem Kanj

With a jam packed schedule of everything to do, see and of course eat during my recent trip to New York City, I made sure to fill my suitcase with the most comfortable of clothes, so my looks during the trip mainly consisted of tees, jeans and a couple of my favourite statement jackets. We were pretty lucky with the weather apart from a couple of rainy days, but for the time of year we were there, it was surprisingly perfect.

Whilst walking through Gramercy Park one drizzly morning on our way to have bagels for breakfast, Reem and I took advantage of the picture perfect Fall surrounding us and snapped away.

My outfit is made for a day of exploring, it’s super easy going and most of all comfortable. My ‘Noush’ bag by Baraboux couldn’t have been a better choice, I could either hang it on my shoulder or adjust the strap slightly so it was long enough as a cross-body. ‘Noush’ is one of my favourites, for reasons including, but not limited to, all the compartments (!) This is how you know that Baraboux is designed by a woman. Their bags are made for us, with every detail considered, especially my need to be able to stuff as many of my Chelsea Market jewellery purchases in there as possible (clearly top of the list for the design team).

When walking around a brand new city, you want to maintain comfort without skimping on style, so just go with a good layering of sleek basics such as this flowing Deborah Henning top, and focus on keeping your outerwear as the statement. Always pair with a chic, yet practical bag and of course, my rule for tying up any look is to always have a cool pair of sunglasses on.

Exciting news for fans of Baraboux in London. You can now shop a range of the collection in Fenwick’s on Bond St.
