TRAVEL / MARRAKECH
By Reem Kanj / Photography Ego by Design
Last month, my fiancé Jenai and I headed to Morocco for a few days of some much needed R&R. We booked in four days at the Royal Palm Marrakech, which I had heard such wonderful things about, but little did I expect a haven of beautiful interiors, delicious cuisine and impeccable service. I think this was my first time at a 6 star hotel, and it was pretty much flawless.
It’s so hard to try and paint a picture of my stay through a blog post. I did aim to share as much as possible via Snapchat (ID: reemkanj) and Instagram, but nothing can really compare to the personal experience.
I have a few features dedicated to the hotel coming up, but for my first one I thought I’d give you a glimpse into what a typical day was like as a guest of the Royal Palm Marrakech.
After waking up to a delicious breakfast, I would either hit the gym for a quick 40 minute session or head to the spa for a full body massage followed by a quick dip in the indoor pool. It would then be a relaxing walk to the main pool area for a spot of lunch at L’Olivier with the hubby-to-be, ending the afternoon back in our suite with a cup of tea and beautiful view of the golf course and mountains in the distance.
Jenai and I felt spoiled for choice with options for dinner, during our first night we enjoyed traditional Moroccan cuisine at Al Ain, but on our second night, fell totally in love with the dining experience at Le Caravane where we were offered seats in our very own private lounge, hidden from view by Mashrabiya panels, that we made a return visit on our last night as well.
There was a really exciting reason behind visiting Morocco for the two of us which I can’t wait to share with you all, and the Royal Palm Marrakech helped solidify our love for the city even more. So, if not for any other reason, it’s high on my list of where to visit if you’re on the market for a new getaway destination.
