LAPLAND / FINLAND

Just a few of my favourite snaps from my time in Lapland from a couple of weeks ago. Being surrounded by so much snow is so therapeutic, not to mention it makes everything look really pretty.
I’m tempted to make this an annual trip, I think I kind of got addicted to the calm and laid back lifestyle of being in a cabin and doing things like reindeer safaris for fun. For sure beats being glued to a screen for 12-15 hours a day, am I right?
Of course the reason for heading to Lapland was to see the Northern Lights, and even though there’s never a guarantee of that, you have a better chance during the months of February and March. We were there for four nights and only got lucky on our second night in, and it was so beautiful.
It’s been one of the hardest photography tasks I’ve faced so far, (shooting at night and in the freezing cold is not one of my strong points) but luckily I had Miguel at hand to help me figure out my settings for astronomy photography and with a little patience I finally got my images.
It was so humbling and I feel so honoured to have been able to witness this epic show. If you haven’t got a trip to see the Northern Lights on your list yet, I would highly recommend adding one soon.
